Village Animal Clinic

Nice environment, great staff. They were warm, welcoming and informative.

I had originally given this business five stars but I am editing this after my experience today. If I could leave you zero Stars I would. It's really a shame because the veterinarian, her assistant and the sweet fairhaired woman at the front desk we're absolutely wonderful. Kind Compassionate Care. Everyone seemed to go above and beyond to help my little chihuahua. Kim and Kim alone has probably lost you my business. I called first thing this morning to give 24-hour notice. I told her my little Chihuahua was still so sore and so sickly from her vaccinations that I wanted to move the dental appointment a bit later out. I said I felt it was too soon to put her through another procedure. In addition, her blood work hadn't come in yet to determine if she was healthy enough for surgery. She wasn't understanding or nice. It seemed to make her very flustered and she said well I'm going to have to check the schedule very rudely. Then said you know we only do dental on certain days! she put me on hold came back and snapped I'm going to have to call you back. Again I explained I really thought it was too much for her at her age and she needed more time . She was so irritated I finally said well let's just keep it the way it is and I'll keep an eye on her. She said good goodbye if she even said goodbye ,and hung up .she didn't even say thank you or anything. At about 1:30 I called again and said listen she's too sore it's too much for her let's bump that appointment out. She said No. She said I'm going to speak to the veterinarian. I said please don't, let me just give her a half of a baby aspirin and a few more days to rest; this is just too much for her. She snapped at me like I'm an idiot. She came back and said she needs pain medication!... and you can come pick it up. As I had tried to explain to her I was 55 minutes in the opposite direction getting Oral Surgery/ dental implant. She wasn't listening. I said thank you for that but I don't think I can make it in there to pick it up. can we please just reschedule her. She's just sore and needs a few days. This woman had the nerve to snap at me and say the pain medicine will fix it and she'll be fine for tomorrow!! just come pick it up!! Oh no, I'm sorry, you don't speak to me that way, ever. I am a well educated, retired professional. I was nothing but kind to all of you. A receptionist is the front line... supposed to be nice to everybody and represent the business. Kim came off as abrupt/ nasty, pushy and a bully!! . As I said, the Vet herself and the nurse were absolutely wonderful .. I was sincerely disappointed as I thought I had found my forever veterinarian here in Mobile. Apparently God has other plans. just as a matter of customer relations skills, which Kim obviously knows nothing about... When I was checking out Monday afternoon And I handed you a check for $500+ . The appropriate response would have been "thank you, we appreciate your business... we're looking forward to seeing you in a few days". She did not thank me and got super Huffy when I asked for a receipt. She complained about having to scan it through the computer. The woman huffed and puffed like she was stoking a fire. Absolutely ridiculous. Not a smile or a thank you. I worked my way through college and graduate school at a Veterinary Clinic. I've had your job lady!!.. My opinion that my little 4lb dog could not handle another procedure tomorrow is not without Merit. When I called this morning and asked to reschedule that should have been the end of it! I absolutely do not allow front office people to treat me that way. She represents your business. Very abrasive. I love the vet but that woman is mean and she's a bully and she doesn't listen. I don't tolerate that well.
